How to actually finish the Quran (the khatmah maths nobody shows you)

Every Muslim carries the same quiet intention: finish the Book. What gets in the way is never sincerity, it's arithmetic. 6,236 ayahs is an abstraction. "54 ayahs today" is a plan.

So we built the maths in.

Set a goal in days — or just name the date

In the Quran tab you set a khatmah goal two ways. Pick a number of days: 30, 60, 90, or your own. Or skip the mental arithmetic entirely and type a finish date, enter 31/01/2027 and the app answers "148 days from today, about 43 ayahs a day."

That target then sits at the top of your Quran tab, and the progress bar moves with every session. Not a vague ambition any more. A number, and a day.

Bookmarks that respect real life

This is the part we're proudest of, and it's the part most apps get wrong. Nobody reads al-Baqarah in one sitting. So tap the ayah where you stop, and the app remembers exactly where you are: "you're up to ayah 47 of 286."

Crucially, that partial progress counts. Every partially-read surah feeds your overall percentage, so the bar reflects the reading you've actually done — not just the surahs you happened to finish. A "Continue reading" card takes you straight back to your spot.

A mushaf worth reading from

  • Uthmani script with traditional ayah markers — the text you know from the printed mushaf.
  • An English translation you can toggle — on when you want it, out of the way when you don't.
  • A text-size control, for readers who'd rather not squint at their phone after Isha.
  • A gentle reading companion. Ask about a surah and you'll get a short reflection — never a ruling. For rulings and real tafsir it will always point you to scholars.

6,236 ayahs is an abstraction. "43 ayahs a day" is a Tuesday evening.

Start tonight, not in Ramadan

The intention that waits for the right moment tends to wait a long time. Surah al-Mulk is 30 ayahs, read it before you sleep tonight and your bar has already moved. Then let the number tell you what tomorrow looks like.
